Ghanaian actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, widely known as Akuapem Poloo, has been named the Discovery of the Year at the 2024 Ghana Movie Awards. The ceremony took place on January 18, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Akuapem Poloo received the award for her outstanding performance in the movie “Widow’s Gift”, directed and produced by celebrated actress Juliet Ibrahim.
The award’s nominees included Frank Ntiamoah, Mawena Azumah, Martina Dwamenq, Sherita Adu, Quesh, and Augustina Aboabo, showcasing a competitive field of emerging talent.
Upon receiving the honor, Akuapem Poloo expressed her heartfelt gratitude, dedicating her award first to God and then to the organizers of the prestigious event.
