VRA Refutes Ownership of Helicopter in Nkawkaw Emergency Landing

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has rejected media claims linking it to a helicopter that made an emergency landing near the Nkawkaw bypass in the Eastern Region on Monday, August 11.

The Jet A-1 aircraft, with registration number 9G-AFW, was en route from Accra to Kumasi when the pilot landed due to poor visibility caused by harsh weather.

In a statement on Wednesday, August 13, VRA stressed it does not own the helicopter nor operate any aviation services. Checks revealed the aircraft belongs to Volta River Aviation Limited (VRAL), a Petroleum Commission–registered company.
