Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia paid a visit to the senior national football team, the Black Stars, in Kumasi.
During the visit, Captain Thomas Partey took the opportunity to request for a better stadium from the Vice President, stating that it would enable the team to play better football.
The current state of the stadium has been a long-standing concern for the team, and Partey’s request was met with nods of agreement from his teammates.
Dr. Bawumia, who is in Kumasi as part of his campaign ahead of Election 2024, encouraged the team and promised to consider their request. He also wished them luck in their upcoming match and urged them to make Ghana proud.
The Black Stars will be taking on Central African Republic tonight at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
