Three men have been remanded by the Fiapre Circuit Court for their roles in the theft of a service pistol at the Newmont Ahafo Mines in Ntotroso on January 13, 2025. The stolen weapon, a Beretta pistol with registration GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z13, triggered months of investigation by the Bono Regional Police Command.

The suspects — Joseph Blackige, 25, Kwabena Dodzi, 44, and Adu Yeboah Abraham (Okwaraji), 46 — were arrested on November 12, 2025, together with 18-year-old Priscilla Awuni.

An intelligence-led operation by the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) led to the arrest of Blackige and Awuni at Ntotroso. Though nothing incriminating was found in Blackige’s room, he later confessed to giving the stolen pistol to Dodzi.

The three male suspects have been remanded into police custody, while the court granted Priscilla Awuni police enquiry bail pending further investigations. They are scheduled to reappear on November 28, 2025.
