Two Firefighters Injured as GNFS Battles Intense Adjiringanor Fire

Two firefighters were injured while combating a fierce blaze that engulfed a two-storey, eight-room building at Adjiringanor near Ability Square on Friday night, November 14, 2025.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) received the distress call at 9:32 pm and the Legon Fire Station deployed the first crew, arriving at 10:03 pm. Reinforcement teams from Madina, Adenta, the National Headquarters and a private water tanker later joined as the fire intensified.

Firefighters worked for hours, bringing the blaze under control at 12:16 am and fully extinguishing it at 1:08 am. Seven out of eight rooms on the top floor were completely destroyed, but the team managed to save one room, the entire ground floor and nearby structures.

The GNFS confirmed that two firefighters were injured during the operation, one suffered a stab wound to the left arm, while the other sustained a shoulder injury from a falling block. Both received treatment at Unity Clinic in Madina and were discharged.

The Service is appealing to the public for information leading to the arrest of the individual who stabbed one of the firefighters. A special reward has been announced for anyone who provides credible information.
