Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape relating to a fourth complainant, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The 32-year-old Ghanaian international is already facing trial after pleading not guilty to five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women. The alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.

The CPS said the new charges follow a further investigation by the Metropolitan Police, with the additional allegations first reported in August 2025.

Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 13, 2026. He is due to stand trial on November 2.

In a previous court appearance last September, Partey denied all existing charges against him.

His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, earlier stated: “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further.”

A police investigation into the midfielder began in February 2022 after an initial report of rape was made. The CPS indicated that the charges were brought after a careful review of a comprehensive file of evidence.

Partey joined Arsenal in 2020 from Atletico Madrid, where he won the Europa League. His contract with the North London club ended on June 30, 2025, and was not renewed. He has since signed for Spanish La Liga side Villarreal.
