Tarkwa Police Arrest 23-Year-Old for Possession of 66 Parcels of Suspected Indian Hemp

The Western Central Region Police Command, Asankragwa Division, has arrested 23-year-old Daniel Yeboah for possessing 66 parcels of suspected narcotic drugs.

The arrest occurred on July 31, 2025, at the Samreboi-Tanokrom Snap Check Point, where officers intercepted Yeboah onboard a tricycle (commonly known as Pragia) carrying two travel bags filled with compressed parcels believed to be Indian hemp.

According to police reports, Yeboah claimed he was hired by a woman in Wenchi to deliver the packages to her at Mumuni Camp near Samreboi. He also alleged that he was paid GH¢5,000 for the delivery.

Following the arrest, police have launched a full-scale investigation and are making strenuous efforts to locate and apprehend the unidentified woman said to be behind the consignment.

Daniel Yeboah is expected to be arraigned before court on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The Regional Police Command is appealing to the public to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of the said woman or support the ongoing investigation.
