The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has pledged unwavering support to the Black Queens, assuring them that all pending bonuses will be promptly settled. This assurance came during a visit to the team alongside Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Simeon-Okraku, in Accra.
Accompanied by Deputy Sports Minister Evans Bobie (Hon.) and Management Committee Chairperson, Dr. Gifty Oware Mensah, the Minister emphasized the ministry’s dedication to fulfilling all commitments made to the players. This visit aimed to reinforce the football fraternity’s steadfast backing for the team.
Addressing the players, the Minister encouraged them to maintain their dedication despite the anticipated tough encounter against Zambia. Captain Portia Boakye expressed gratitude to the President, Minister, and their delegation for the visit, affirming the team’s readiness to deliver on Friday.
The Black Queens are set to face Zambia’s Copper Queens in the first leg of the third-round Olympic qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium, scheduled for Friday, February 23, 2024, at 5:00 pm.
