Soldier in Burma Camp pharmacy assault case granted GH¢70k bail

WO1 Mensah Williams, the soldier captured in a viral video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer at Burma Camp, has been granted GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties by an Accra Circuit Court.

The incident happened on October 29, 2025, at e-Pride Pharmacy after the soldier became angry when told that purchased medicines could not be refunded. He had sought a refund of about GH¢65.00 for medication bought by his son.

CCTV footage showed him assaulting the male attendant and attacking a female customer who tried recording the confrontation.

The Ghana Armed Forces arrested him on October 30, 2025, and handed him over to the Cantonments Police Station for further investigation and prosecution.
