Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., popularly known as Shatta Wale, has officially retracted allegations he made in 2022 against music executive Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog.

In a letter dated April 30, 2025, Shatta Wale expressed regret over a series of social media posts he published on November 2, 2022, in which he made statements that were widely interpreted as accusing Bulldog of being involved in the 2014 murder of Fennec Okyere, a former artiste manager.

Shatta Wale acknowledged that the statement had been “generally misunderstood or misconstrued” as a confession from Bulldog and emphasized that he did not intend to imply that Mr. Hanson had any involvement in the crime.

The apology also addressed other comments made in the posts, which Shatta Wale admitted could have been seen as imputing improper conduct or immorality to Bulldog and other public figures.

“I also wish to apologise to Mr. Hanson and all the persons whom my publications… have caused pain, agony, anguish, shame, ridicule, or hatred,” the letter stated.

The retraction and apology mark a significant development in a long-standing public feud that drew widespread media and legal attention. It is unclear whether the apology will affect any ongoing legal proceedings related to the case.
