Newly sworn in Ghana’s Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare is currently the man of the moment following the arrest of two biggest Ghanaian celebrities.

The newly installed IGP is trending number one on Twitter with #TheIGP after the likes of Funny Face, Shatta Wale and Medikal were all arrested over some crimes they have committed.

The Ghana’s 23rd IGP recent actions taken by the police administration to tackle security challenges in the country have been largely commended and have received the support of many Ghanaians.

And with the arrest of Shatta Wale, four others and Medikal, Ghanaians have taken to Twitter to share their opinions on the work of Dr George Akuffo Dampare.

GhArticles.com earlier reported that, Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, aka Medikal has been arrested for brandishing a gun on social media.

This comes few hours after dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, and four other people were remanded into police custody following an alleged gun attack that turned out to be hoax.

They were remanded by the Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21, 2021, during their first appearance in court.

Shatta Wale was picked up by the police for spreading false news about an assassination attempt at his residence in Accra on October 19, 2021.

Ashaiman Drivers Play Football As Passengers Get Stranded At Lorry Station [WATCH]

A very sad video has surface social media which captures moment commercial drivers in Ashaiman busy playing football at the lorry station as passengers get stranded.

The disheartening video has been spotted by GhArticles.com on Twitter and it is spreading a like a wildfire on social media.

Earlier on, GhArticles.com reported that effective today, the Coalition of Commercial Transport Owners have announced its intention to embark on a nationwide indefinite strike, as part of measures to compel the government to scrap some taxes on fuel to enable reduction at the pumps.

According to the Coalition, the government for the past two weeks has failed to heed their calls for some taxes to be scrapped off hence the decision to embark on the sit-down strike.

The group has asked its members to put on red armbands to register their displeasure with the government.

The coalition of private transport operators consists of Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU), Association of Tipper Truck Drivers, Harbor Transport Owners, Ghana National Cargo Transport Association, Ghana Committed Drivers Association, Concerned Drivers Association, Digital Drivers, Commercial motorbike riders, popularly referred to as Okada, the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers among others.

Twitter Reacts After Award Gifted To Accra's Best Farmer Revealed

Ghana just celebrated her farmer’s nation wide yet Ghanaians don’t seem too happy about the awards the farmers received.

Earlier today, GhOne’s broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere revealed the Awards received by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly best farmer were a bicycle, sprayer and assorted items for farming.

Unfortunately, this information did not sit well with the Ghanaian Twitter family as most of yhem held the same notion, the Farmer didn’t deserve those items.

2022 Budget: Ghanaians Sing Asiedu Nketia Praise After He Single-handedly Sacred NPP MPs From Appearing In Parliament

The National General-Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia presence at Parliament sitting to approve the 2022 budget scared off Majority caucus from appearing at the chamber meeting.

Earlier on GhArticles.com reported that the House of Parliament has rejected the 2022 budget.

The budget which was debated on today and voted for had 137 against it and 0 votes for it’s approval.

This means that the new policies introduced by government for 2022 can not be implemented.

In a report filed by Mynewsghana.com, the Minority had requested the Finance Minister to scrape the E-Levy and make provisions for the Ketu sea defense project.

Though members of the majority were absence from the chamber for almost four hours, they came back after a call from the minority to Ghanaians to call on their MPs to part take in the debate and voting.

Asiedu Nketia an uninvited guest was seen seated at the public gallery seat in Parliament to witness the debate and voting of the 2022 budget.

His presence scared off the majority caucus in Parliament who then called for his sacking from the house.

When their call for General Mosquito as he popularly called, to be sacked got backfired they walked out of Parliament in shame.

Following that, social media is buzzing as Ghanaians sing Asiedu Nketia praise for saving us from the E-Levy tax which many Ghanaians are against.

Speaking after the meeting was suspended by the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Asiedu Nketia noted that he has been a member of Parliament, a citizen of Ghana and a member of the board in Parliament so he has every right to attend the meeting as part of his right as a Ghanaian.

He added that, sitting at the public gallery seat makes him a good citizen of Ghana who wants to know what the MPs are really doing for Ghanaians.
