Portugal edged past rivals Spain in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim their second UEFA Nations League title after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time in Munich.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored Portugal’s equalizer in the 61st minute, making it 2-2 after goals from Spain’s Martin Zubimendi (21′) and Mikel Oyarzabal (first half), with Nuno Mendes netting for Portugal in the 26th minute.

Although Ronaldo was subbed off before extra time, he celebrated emotionally from the sidelines after Ruben Neves calmly scored the decisive penalty, moments after goalkeeper Diogo Costa denied Alvaro Morata’s effort.
