A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, on the Kumasi-Accra highway, resulting in the death of a police officer. The officer, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, lost his life after crashing his motorbike into a stationary truck.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the officer was in pursuit of an errant motor rider when the accident happened. The officer collided with the rear of the parked truck, which had broken down, and was being attended to by its driver and mate.
Following the impact, the officer was severely injured, with bystanders observing him gasping for breath as he lay on the ground. Despite his efforts to signal for help by raising his left hand, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Blood was visible on the ground, indicating the severity of the crash. The driver and mate of the truck reportedly left the scene after the incident, leaving the officer unattended.
