Police Arrest Blogger Over False Claims Against Former NCA Board Chair

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Amadotor, a blogger with Dklassgh.net, for allegedly publishing false and malicious claims about the former Board Chair of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio II.

In a statement issued on Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) confirmed the arrest, stating that it was conducted with support from the National Signals Bureau (NSB). The action followed a formal complaint filed by Mr. Ababio after false information about him surfaced online.

According to the police statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Amadotor admitted to the offence during interrogation. He also implicated an individual identified as Chairman Michael Yeboah, whom he claimed contracted him to publish the fabricated story.

The CID indicated that efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest Chairman Yeboah to assist with the investigations.

Amadotor remains in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before the court on Friday, November 21, 2025. The police have reiterated their resolve to clamp down on misinformation, especially when such publications are intended to harm reputations or mislead the public.
