Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey found the net as Arsenal secured a resounding 5-1 win over Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, strengthening their push for the Premier League title.

With Liverpool extending their lead at the top after a win over Bournemouth, Arsenal needed a victory to stay in the race. Partey, making a strong return to the starting XI, controlled the midfield as the Gunners dominated the reigning champions.

Arsenal struck early, capitalizing on a mistake from Manuel Akanji, which allowed Martin Ødegaard to convert Kai Havertz’s pass within two minutes. Erling Haaland leveled the score for City in the 55th minute, briefly reviving their hopes.

However, Arsenal responded swiftly just two minutes later, with Partey’s shot taking a deflection off John Stones to wrongfoot goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, restoring their lead.

The hosts continued their relentless attack as 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly scored his first senior goal in the 62nd minute. Havertz then extended the lead with a clinical left-footed strike before 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri sealed the rout with a spectacular finish.
