The official residence of the Afigya Kwabre South District Chief Executive (DCE) was destroyed by fire on the night of Saturday, June 21, 2025, around 11 p.m.
According to reports from Akoma News, the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident, as the newly appointed DCE had not yet moved in.
The Ghana Police Service has since launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. While the exact source of the fire is still unknown, preliminary information suggests that arson may be a possibility. Although this has not yet been independently verified, sources indicate that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The authorities are yet to release an official statement confirming the cause of the fire or the status of the ongoing investigation.
