Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, has officially stepped down as the Managing Director of Ghana Post after serving in the role for two years. His resignation, announced on March 12, 2025, marks the end of a tenure focused on modernization and operational efficiency at the state-owned postal service.
Obour was appointed as Ghana Post’s MD on January 4, 2022, under the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Reflecting on his time in office, he described it as a privilege and highlighted significant strides in digitalization, brand visibility, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.
In a Facebook post announcing his resignation, Obour expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve. He also thanked the Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, as well as the Board of Directors, management, and staff of Ghana Post, for their support throughout his tenure.
“As I step down to pursue other interests, I extend my deepest gratitude to Hon. Ursula Owusu, the Board of Directors, and the hardworking management and staff of Ghana Post. Their dedication and commitment have been instrumental in the progress we have made,” he stated.
Obour’s leadership saw Ghana Post undergo significant transformation, positioning the organization as a more customer-focused logistics and postal service provider. His departure raises questions about the future direction of the company and who will step in to continue the reforms he initiated.
Ghana Post is yet to announce Obour’s successor, but the transition is expected to be closely watched, given the company’s growing role in e-commerce, digital financial services, and nationwide logistics.
