The National Service Authority (NSA) has released 132,393 PIN codes for the 2025/2026 national service year. The PINs cover prospective personnel from 100 accredited tertiary institutions across Ghana.
This was announced in a statement dated June 17, 2025, by Acting Director General Felix Gyamfi, who highlighted improved data integrity and validation processes. According to the NSA, the current number of approved submissions reflects a 26% average reduction compared to the last three years, with the biggest drop being 36% from the 2022/2023 cycle. This reduction is attributed to the elimination of inflated or unverified submissions.
Out of 135,990 total submissions from 122 tertiary institutions, 3,597 submissions from 22 unaccredited institutions were excluded. The NSA noted that these institutions are not recognised by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and unless they regularise their accreditation status within 30 days, their graduates will not be mobilised.
An additional 908 PIN codes for private applicants, including Ghanaians who studied abroad, deferred service, or defaulted, are currently under final verification.
The NSA advised prospective personnel to contact support lines if they cannot access their PIN codes by June 24, 2025.
As part of new initiatives, the NSA also announced a six-week basic military training option for selected service personnel. Applicants can opt into this during registration and will receive postings only after completing the training. This initiative aims to enhance discipline and readiness without disrupting placements.
Registration opens on June 17, 2025, and closes on July 1, 2025. Eligible applicants are encouraged to complete the process within the period and make use of available support channels.
