New Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech enjoys first meal in London at lavish Mayfair restaurant

New Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech dined out in style at a lavish Mayfair restaurant in London on the night he jetted in to join up with his team-mates.

The 26-year-old sealed his £37.8million move from Ajax in mid-February and has finally been able to head to the UK, along with members of his entourage, where he celebrated in style.

A social media post shows Ziyech enjoying a meal with friends at Novikov, a state-of-the-art restaurant and bar situated directly in the heart of the capital.

The eatery’s website promises a choice of two ‘distinct restaurants and one stylish Lounge Bar’ for guests in search of a sleek and modern dining experience, and has proven popular before among big name Premier League stars.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Alvaro Morara and Harry Kane have all been spotted at the luxury West End Italian-Asian restaurant.

And now Ziyech is among them after marking his arrival in the country with a trip to the exclusive establishment.

An image had surfaced online showing the former Ajax winger preparing to board the private jet which took him to London.

Two separate videos, taken by members of his team, also snapped Ziyech relaxing on board as his top flight move awaited.

Negotiations between the Amsterdam outfit and Chelsea appeared to have broken down in January after the latter saw an offer rejected in January. But talks were finally wrapped up a month later with other clubs reportedly hopeful of swooping in.

The Dutch-born Morocco international became Frank Lampard’s first signing in the Stamford Bridge hotseat and was swiftly followed by RB Leipzig ace Timo Werner.

Ziyech made 35 appearances across all competitions this season before the Eredivisie campaign was cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis.

He scored eight goals and registered 21 assists before Chelsea came calling, and will be placed on an specific training schedule – alongside fellow new addition Werner – to ensure he is ready to hit the ground running.

The stars officially became Chelsea players on July 1 but will be unable to make their debuts in the remaining games left this term.
