Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for Erik ten Hag to become their new manager.
The Ajax boss is set to leave his role with the Dutch champions at the end of the Eredivisie season, according to The Athletic.
Ralf Rangnick has been in interim charge of the Red Devils since November following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
A verbal agreement has been reached between United and Ten Hag, the report says, but a four-year contract is likely to follow.

The Manchester club are currently seventh in the Premier League following their 1-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.
They remain six points off the Champions League places.
Ajax are aware of the situation and still need to reach a deal with United. United will also need to finalise details and documentation, while there will be no written agreement or announcement until after Ajax face PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Cup final on April 17.
The Athletic understands his coaching staff will also be finalised in due course.
United want to be respectful to both Ajax and Ten Hag as they have a cup final to play and are still seeking to be champions of the Eredivisie.
Manchester United and Ten Hag’s representatives SEG declined to comment.
