Mahama Pledges to Build a Brighter Future for Ghanaian Youth

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has vowed to prioritize the aspirations and well-being of Ghana’s youth as he prepares to assume office following his victory in the December 7, 2024, general elections.

In an interview with DW TV on December 16, Mahama reflected on the optimism and high expectations expressed by young Ghanaians during his campaign. He described their enthusiasm as both humbling and motivating, underscoring his commitment to turning Ghana’s fortunes around.

“Looking at the faces of the young people I saw at all the rallies and the high expectations they have in our government gives me a humble feeling and a sense of preparing to give it my best,” Mahama stated.

The President-elect emphasized the need for a comprehensive “reset” to create an environment where young people can thrive and realize their full potential. He noted the challenges faced by Ghanaian youth, including limited opportunities despite their talents and hard work.

“We need a reset so that we can create a better environment for our young people to thrive and create enough opportunity for them to be able to realize their full potential,” Mahama affirmed.
