 Ken Agyapong Takes Lead in NPP Presidential Primaries – See Results So Far

 

In the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) highly anticipated presidential primaries held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, across the country, the party’s delegates cast their votes to determine the NPP’s flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 elections. With four candidates vying for the position, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agric Minister Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, provisional results are starting to emerge.

In the Yunyoo Constituency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured a significant lead with 387 votes, while Kennedy Agyapong received no votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh also did not receive any votes in this constituency.

At the NPP headquarters, Kennedy Agyapong garnered 133 votes, whereas Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received 254 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh trailed behind with 2 and 4 votes, respectively.

In the Wenchi Constituency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the frontrunner with 555 votes, while Kennedy Agyapong secured 153 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto received 1 vote, and Francis Addai-Nimoh obtained 2 votes.

The Okaikwei Central Constituency displayed a close race between Kennedy Agyapong and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with the former receiving 332 votes and the latter receiving 334 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto obtained no votes, while Francis Addai-Nimoh received 2 votes.

In the Pru West Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong secured 309 votes, followed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with 82 votes. Francis Addai-Nimoh received 2 votes, while Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto obtained 7 votes.

The Banda Constituency saw Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leading with 182 votes, whereas Kennedy Agyapong received 62 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto secured 3 votes, and Francis Addai-Nimoh did not receive any votes.

In the Cape Coast North Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong took the lead with 316 votes, while Dr. Bawumia received 272 votes. Dr. Afriyie Akoto obtained no votes, and Francis Addai-Nimoh secured 2 votes.

The Sekondi Constituency showcased a significant advantage for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with 376 votes, while Kennedy Agyapong received 92 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh did not receive any votes.

In the Adansi Asokwa Constituency, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia secured 286 votes, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 189 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto received 2 votes, while Francis Addai-Nimoh did not receive any votes.

The Greater Accra Region’s Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency saw Kennedy Agyapong leading with 269 votes, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received 215 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto obtained 1 vote, and Francis Addai-Nimoh secured 3 votes.

At the Krowor Centre A, Kennedy Agyapong emerged as the winner with 303 votes, followed by Dr. Bawumia with 223 votes. Dr. Afriyie Akoto received 4 votes, and Francis Addai-Nimoh obtained 2 votes.

In the Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Agyapong dominated with 491 votes, while Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia received 16 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh did not receive any votes.

In Jaman South, Kennedy Agyapong secured 386 votes, followed closely by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with 293 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto received 4 votes, and Francis Addai-Nimoh obtained 1 vote.

At Ahanta West Baidoo Bonsoe SHS, Kennedy Agyapong received 544 votes, while Dr. Bawumia obtained 308 votes. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh received 6 and 5 votes, respectively.

As the provisional results continue to trickle in from various constituencies, it is evident that Kennedy Agyapong has taken a significant lead in the NPP presidential primaries.
