‎Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured Ghanaian football fans of improved travel arrangements ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the Black Stars’ qualification.

‎Ghana booked their place at the global tournament with a narrow 1–0 victory over Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in Accra, a result that marks the nation’s fifth World Cup appearance since its debut in 2006.

‎In a post on X on Monday, October 13, Mr Ablakwa congratulated the team and announced plans to use Ghana’s strong diplomatic relations with the host nations the United States, Canada, and Mexico, to secure favourable visa quotas for supporters.

‎“Congratulations to the Black Stars on Ghana’s emphatic 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. Ghanaians can be fully assured that the Foreign Ministry under my leadership shall leverage our improved cordial diplomatic relations with the United States, Canada, and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas for our globally acclaimed football fans. GHANA, here we come!” he posted.

‎The Black Stars’ victory has rekindled national pride as the team prepares to fly Ghana’s flag high on football’s biggest stage once again.
