Ho to Host 2025 National Farmers Day on December 5

Ho, the Volta regional capital, has been selected to host the 2025 National Farmers Day celebration, Minister of Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku has announced.

The event, scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, will also honour churches engaged in agriculture to encourage more faith-based organisations to support national food production.

Mr Opoku urged churches to take advantage of government interventions and establish farms to help address food insufficiency. Speaking at the Apostles’ Continuation Church International (ACCI) in Sunyani, he encouraged all Ghanaians to join the Feed Ghana programme and take up farming.

He noted that nationwide participation in farming, including backyard gardening, will boost food availability. He added that increased production of local poultry would reduce reliance on imported chicken.
