Health Minister Agyeman-Manu and National Security Minister Kan-Dapaah to Address Parliament Today

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, is set to appear before Parliament on November 9, 2023, to elucidate the closure of the Renal Unit at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The closure raised concerns about the surge in kidney-related diseases. The Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, urged the minister to explain the closure and address the unresolved GH¢380 fee for kidney treatment.

Simultaneously, National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah will also address Parliament regarding the recent attacks on Garu and Tempane residents by military personnel in the Upper East Region. The alleged military retaliation left over 50 people hospitalized. The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Andrew Amoako Asiamah, directed the National Security Minister to brief legislators on the situation, seeking clarity on the alleged attacks and the government’s response.
