
The 2026 Grammy Awards took place on Sunday night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrating outstanding achievements across music, film, television and performance arts. The ceremony was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah for the sixth and final time.
This year’s event also marked the end of a long broadcasting era, as CBS aired the Grammys for the last time after more than five decades. From 2027, the prestigious awards ceremony will move to Disney-owned platforms.
Top honours on the night were shared among several global music stars. British singer Olivia Dean won Best New Artist, marking a major milestone in her career. Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas secured Song of the Year with Wildflower, while Kendrick Lamar and SZA claimed Record of the Year for Luther. Bad Bunny emerged as the biggest winner of the night after taking home Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
While the main ceremony highlighted the biggest awards, most of the 95 Grammy categories were presented earlier during the non-televised premiere ceremony, which was hosted by actor and singer Darren Criss.
Lady Gaga enjoyed a strong showing in the pop categories, winning Best Pop Vocal Album with Mayhem and Best Dance Pop Recording for Abracadabra. Kendrick Lamar further cemented his dominance in hip-hop by winning Best Rap Album for GNX, while Leon Thomas claimed Best R&B Album with Mutt.
In the African music category, South African star Tyla won Best African Music Performance for Push 2 Start, beating strong contenders including Burna Boy, Davido, Ayra Starr and Eddy Kenzo.
Rock and alternative music also saw notable wins, with Turnstile picking up awards for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance, while The Cure won Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.
Beyond music, the Grammys recognised excellence in film, television, comedy, jazz and classical music. Nate Bargatze won Best Comedy Album, while Ludwig Göransson claimed Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for Sinners. In classical music, the Boston Symphony Orchestra earned Best Orchestral Performance for Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphonie under conductor Andris Nelsons.
The 2026 Grammys showcased a diverse range of talent across genres and continents, reinforcing the Recording Academy’s commitment to celebrating global creativity and artistic excellence.
