
Government has revoked 541 public sector appointments made after the December 7, 2024 general elections, following a review by a Special Committee established by the Chief of Staff, .
The committee examined recruitments carried out during the transition period under the administration of former President . The review was initiated after concerns that established civil service recruitment procedures may have been bypassed.
Out of 2,080 appointments initially revoked pending investigation, the committee upheld 1,201 after determining that they complied with due process. Additionally, 338 appointments involving persons with disabilities were maintained, having been found to meet all legal and administrative requirements.
Addressing the outcome, Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, , emphasized that the exercise was not politically motivated.
He explained that the review was aimed at strengthening due process, accountability, and good governance within the public service.
The findings mark the conclusion of weeks of scrutiny over last-minute public sector recruitments carried out during the post-election transition period.
