GIMPA Law Lecturer Appointed Visiting Professor at Temple University Beasley School of Law

Clement Akapame, a lawyer in private practice and senior law lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Law School, has been appointed as a visiting professor at Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Akapame currently teaches International Commercial Law at GIMPA Law School’s LL.M program and Commercial Law at the LL.B. program.

The appointment is a result of GIMPA’s academic cooperation and partnership with Temple University Beasley School of Law. GIMPA announced the appointment on its website and Facebook page.

The agreement between Temple University and GIMPA was executed following a meeting in Philadelphia, USA, on August 9, 2023. The agreement aims to promote student and faculty mobility, including a 3+1 LLB/LLM program enabling GIMPA law students to earn credits toward Temple’s LLM degree.

Akapame, a qualified legal practitioner with over twelve years of experience, is co-author of the first Ghanaian legal text on commercial law. He also provides legal advice to GIMPA’s management and Governing Council and is the Partner in charge of Commercial Practice at TaylorCrabbe Barristers and Solicitors.

Akapame has worked with international organizations such as DFID, USAID, and UNDP on consultancy projects in natural resources and constitutional law. He is currently involved in capacity building for Civil Society Organizations in the forestry sector.
