#GhanaPolls2024: NDC Agent Arrested for Allegedly Carrying Firearm in Okaikwei South

An individual, reportedly an agent of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been arrested at Center 2 of the St. Theresa’s School polling station in the Okaikwei South constituency for allegedly carrying a firearm.

The arrest followed an altercation between the suspect and an Electoral Commission (EC) official during the early hours of the voting process. Eyewitnesses claim the individual verbally assaulted the EC official, disrupting preparations for the day’s polls.

Upon conducting a search, police officers allegedly discovered a pistol in the suspect’s possession, raising serious safety concerns at the polling station. The individual was promptly detained and transported to the Kaneshie Police Station for further investigation.
