#GhanaPolls2024: Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of Thumbprinted Ballot Papers at Bolga Central

A man identified as Rufai has been apprehended by the police at the Animgazanga JHS polling station in the Bolga Central constituency for allegedly possessing multiple thumbprinted ballot papers.

Eyewitnesses claim Rufai was caught red-handed, prompting swift intervention from the authorities. He was immediately taken into custody and transported to the regional police headquarters for further questioning.

The incident has sparked outrage within the community, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. The police have commenced investigations to uncover the circumstances surrounding Rufai’s possession of the alleged ballot papers.

In response to the incident, members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) argued that the ballot papers in question were not official but rather training materials intended to educate individuals unfamiliar with the voting process.

As the situation unfolds, authorities have called for calm and urged all stakeholders to adhere to electoral laws to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
