Ghana High Commission Confirms Robbery Incident of Ghanaian Pentecost Church in South Africa

 

In a shocking incident, members of the Ghanaian Church of Pentecost in Johannesburg, South Africa, were victims of a brazen robbery during their church service on October 29, 2023. The High Commission of the Republic of Ghana in Pretoria has confirmed the incident and is actively involved in efforts to secure the safe release of a kidnapped church Deacon.

During the church service, a group of armed assailants entered the premises and robbed members of the congregation at gunpoint, making away with their valuables. Moreover, a Deacon of the church was forcibly kidnapped during the ordeal, leaving the community in shock and distress.

The High Commission of Ghana is collaborating closely with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the swift and secure return of the kidnapped Deacon to his family. The SAPS has reportedly given this case the utmost priority and is working diligently to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safe return of the victim.
