Renowned Ghanaian comedian, Funny Face, has been released on bail following a car accident in Kasoa.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, March 24th, 2023, around 8 PM at Kakraba Junction, involved Funny Face’s vehicle reportedly colliding with several pedestrians.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Subsequent to the accident, Funny Face was arrested and held in police custody.
On March 26, 2024, he appeared before the Kasoa-Akweley District Court, where he was initially denied bail and remanded for two weeks.
However, on Tuesday, April 9, the Court granted him bail in the amount of GH¢120,000, requiring two sureties.
As investigations into the accident continue, Funny Face is expected to reappear in court in four weeks.
Two of the victims are currently receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, while the remaining two are under care at the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa.
In his first statement following the accident and his subsequent release on bail,
Funny Face acknowledged his role in the situation, taking personal responsibility for his challenges.
He provided a detailed account of the events leading up to the accident.
