Foreign Affairs Ministry probes killing of Ghanaian student in Latvia – Ablakwa

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has confirmed that the Government of Ghana has launched investigations into the reported killing of a Ghanaian student, Nana Adjei, in Latvia.

In a Facebook post, the minister said his attention had been drawn to a disturbing video circulating online that reports the killing of the Ghanaian national. He assured the public that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commenced immediate investigations through the appropriate diplomatic channels.

According to Mr. Ablakwa, the ministry will keep the public informed as developments unfold.

He stressed Ghana’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad, stating that no Ghanaian can be harmed anywhere in the world without consequences.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry is expected to engage Latvian authorities as part of efforts to establish the facts surrounding the incident and ensure justice is served.
