The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a 90-day deadline for applicants to complete passport applications initiated under the old system before transitioning to the new chip-embedded passport system introduced on April 28.
In a statement issued on April 30, the Ministry clarified that applicants with appointments already booked under the old system should still report to their respective Passport Application Centres on their scheduled dates for biometric capture.
Out of 30,000 old applications, around 7,900 paid applicants still have pending forms. The Ministry assured them they will not incur any additional charges to complete their applications.
Applicants with incomplete submissions are instructed to visit the new portal at passport.mfa.gov.gh and follow the prompts to finalize their process.
Those who missed appointments on April 28 and 29 are encouraged to report to their designated centres for further processing.
