Renowned Ghanaian entertainment pundit and TV presenter, MC Yeboah, has urged the General Legal Council to provide specific reasons for disqualifying Ama Governor from being called to the Bar. Ama Governor, a notable social media influencer, was not included in the recent lawyer enrolment ceremony, and the Legal Council’s statement cited her conduct leading up to her application as the basis for their decision.
In response to this development, MC Yeboah expressed her curiosity about the possible reasons behind Ama Governor’s Bar admission denial. She speculated that the primary factor could be Ama Governor’s public admission of being bisexual during a TV appearance. During a discussion on the United Showbiz, MC Yeboah emphasized the importance of the council disclosing the precise charges of misconduct against Ama Governor to serve as a deterrent for others.
“They did not list the exact things. I want to tell them to tell us the specific things she did so that in the near future, some of us won’t repeat the same mistakes,” MC Yeboah commented. “Because, I think if you rule out the lesbianism bit, I don’t really see what other conduct they are talking about. Or is it because she is a social activist?”
The decision by the General Legal Council has sparked a public debate, with some applauding the council’s stance while others criticize it. Many social media users, as well as fans and sympathizers of Ama Governor, have voiced their opinions on the matter. However, Ama Governor herself has yet to comment on the issue.
The refusal of Ama Governor’s Bar admission has raised questions and controversies, with MC Yeboah’s call for clarity adding to the ongoing debate regarding the basis for this decision.
