East Legon Accident: Bishop Salifu Amoako Kneels and Begs for Forgiveness from Families of Deceased

Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, founder and leader of Alive Chapel International, has publicly apologized to the families of two young girls who tragically lost their lives in a car accident caused by his 16-year-old son.

In an emotional video shared on social media, Bishop Salifu is seen kneeling and weeping as he begs for the families’ forgiveness. He expressed that this is an incredibly painful period for him as well, and he shares in the grief of the bereaved families.

The Bishop, struggling to find words, acknowledged that no explanation could justify the tragedy and prayed for God to comfort and strengthen the affected families. He also called on Ghanaians and fellow pastors to join him in pleading for forgiveness from the families.

“I’m pleading with you to have mercy on me and may God be your comforter. I’m pleading with the families, may God strengthen you and give you strength,” he said. He added that he has been deeply troubled and is at a loss for words over what happened.

This public apology follows the arrest of Bishop Salifu and his wife, Mouha Amoako, for permitting an unlicensed individual— their son—to drive. The incident, which occurred in East Legon last Saturday, led to their being charged by the High Court in Accra. Both were subsequently granted bail of GH¢50,000 each.

A third individual involved in the case, Linda Bempah, described as a sales assistant at a shop owned by the suspect’s uncle, was also granted bail.
