Former Vice President and 2024 NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed excitement over Ghanaian football star Mohammed Kudus’ imminent move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Bawumia, a known Spurs supporter, wrote:
“I am excited to see our Ghanaian starboy make this move to my Tottenham Hotspur. All the best in your medical, Kudus Mohammed.”
Kudus, currently with West Ham United, is set to complete a high-profile transfer to Tottenham following an agreement on a £55 million deal. The 24-year-old is expected to undergo a medical in London on Thursday before signing a six-year contract.
According to reports by The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Kudus had prioritized a move to Spurs despite interest from Chelsea and other clubs.
The Ghana international has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top creative players, leading the league in completed dribbles (216) over the past two seasons. Despite West Ham’s underwhelming 14th-place finish last season, Kudus impressed with five goals and four assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.
At Spurs, Kudus will face stiff competition for a starting role, joining a dynamic attacking unit that includes Son Heung-Min, Richarlison, Mathys Tel, and Dominic Solanke. The move strengthens Tottenham’s squad ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign.
Kudus, who previously played for Ajax Amsterdam, continues to rise as one of Ghana’s most promising football exports.
