In a show of support and appreciation, the Christian Council of Ghana has commended the leadership of the Ghana Police Service for their proactive approach in engaging with key stakeholders to strengthen public involvement. The accolades came after a successful stakeholder meeting between the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) at the Pentecost transit guest house in Accra on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
The meeting, which forms part of the police administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with important stakeholders, is a crucial aspect of their preparations for end-of-year security measures.
During the program, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, expressed the Council’s gratitude to the IGP for extending the invitation and taking the time to enlighten them on various security matters. He acknowledged the significance of the knowledge shared, highlighting that such information is usually acquired through paid means, but the IGP had generously provided it for free. Apostle Nyamekye assured the IGP of the Council’s unwavering support, emphasizing, “You have our backing as a council.”
Echoing the sentiments of appreciation, Bishop Gordon Kisseih, Presiding Bishop of the Life International Church and the First Vice President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), commended the police service for their effective leadership and approach to addressing critical issues. Bishop Kisseih affirmed their confidence in the IGP’s direction, stating, “You are on the right track, and I want to assure you that you have our full support.”
Responding to the expressions of gratitude, IGP Dampare assured Ghanaians of the police service’s unwavering commitment to providing an “overdose” of security during the upcoming Christmas season. The IGP’s assurance aims to instill a sense of confidence in the public, assuring them that the police are fully prepared to uphold law and order during this festive period.
The Christian Council’s commendation of IGP Dampare’s sterling performance in engaging with stakeholders reflects the growing appreciation for the police service’s efforts in fostering collaboration with various sectors of society.
