Ghana Premier League champions Bibiani GoldStars have been drawn against Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The debutants in Africa’s elite inter-club competition will host the Algerian giants between September 19 and 21 before traveling for the return leg, scheduled from September 26 to 28.
Should Frimpong Manso’s men progress, they will face the winner between Sierra Leone’s East End Lions and Tunisia’s US Monastir in the second preliminary stage. That round is slated for October 17–19 for the first leg and October 24–26 for the second.
The aggregate winner from the second preliminary round will earn a prized spot in the group stage of the tournament.
GoldStars are currently in Accra for an intensive pre-season camp, combining training sessions with warm-up matches in preparation for both domestic and continental challenges.
Their next test will be in the GHALCA Top Four competition starting August 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium, featuring Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions, and Hearts of Oak.
