Residents of Bantama in the Ashanti Region have been left in shock following the mysterious killing of a 30-year-old man on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The victim, believed to be a barber, was found lifeless near the market area, where he was known to sometimes sleep. Reports indicate that he often spent nights around the market and lorry station.

A resident, Felix Kwabena Ansah, who claimed to know the deceased, recounted the moment he heard the news.

“I know him. He’s a barber, but he doesn’t sleep in one place — sometimes he sleeps in the market, at the lorry station, or here. This morning, I went to work, and when I returned, my boss told me the guy had died. I came to see him and noticed bloodstains, so I believe someone struck him with something,” he said.

Police have since arrested one suspect in connection with the incident. The body has been taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy as investigations continue.
