Ashanti Region: Taxi Driver Killed by Suspected Armed Robbers

A 37-year-old taxi driver named Amos Adusei was fatally shot by suspected armed robbers on the Kwaman-Boaman road in the Afigya Kwabre North district of the Ashanti Region.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, has left the local community in shock.

Residents noted that while the area has experienced numerous robberies, this is the first time a victim has been killed.

Isaac Adusei, the Assembly member for the Ahenkro electoral area and brother of the deceased, confirmed the incident to Citi News.

He stated that the deceased’s body has been sent to the morgue and that police investigations are underway.

“Around 11:15 on Sunday, a colleague called to inform me that my brother had been in an accident on the Kwaman-Boaman road. When I arrived, I discovered it was not an accident but a shooting. The armed robbers had attacked him, so we took him to the hospital.

“The police came to our house, conducted their report, and then visited the body at the mortuary. They plan to perform the postmortem today at around 10 am, after which they will release the body to the family,” he said.
