Angry supporters of Kumasi Asante Kotoko took their frustration to the next level on Tuesday, April 16, by blocking head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his team from accessing the club’s training ground in Adako Jachie. The protest comes amidst a series of disappointing performances by the team in the Ghana Premier League.
The fans, displeased with Kotoko’s recent form that has seen them suffer seven defeats in nine matches, voiced their discontent by disrupting the team’s training session. Kotoko’s slide to 11th place in the league table, coupled with their loss of position in the top half to rivals Hearts of Oak, has further fueled the supporters’ anger.
The protestors demanded the immediate removal of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and his coaching staff, attributing the team’s lackluster performances to their leadership.
As of now, the club has not issued an official statement regarding the incident at the Adako Jachie training ground in Kumasi. However, Kotoko is scheduled to face league leaders Samartex 1996 in their upcoming fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 21, amidst this turbulent period.
