President Nana Akufo-Addo will officially commission the newly constructed Flowerpot Interchange today, November 19, 2024.

The project, which includes a flyover and motorway interchange, aims to improve North-South connectivity in the area. It complements the recently completed underpass and provides a strategic alternative for commuters.

The interchange features an 800-meter flyover beginning at the Palace Mall on Spintex Road and extending to Boundary Road in East Legon. Additional enhancements include motorway ramps, upgrades to the Flowerpot roundabout approaches on Spintex Road, and improved access through the old tunnel to East Legon.

Once operational, the interchange is expected to ease congestion at the Flowerpot intersection along Spintex Road and offer a direct route between Accra East, including Burma Camp and surrounding areas, and East Legon. The development is set to significantly enhance the daily commute for residents and travelers along the Accra-Tema Motorway.
