Afua Asantewaa Issues Apology for Delayed Communication of Guinness World Record Results

Afua Asantewaa, who recently attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, has apologized to Ghanaians for the delay in revealing her record results. Following allegations that she knew the outcome of her attempt before the official announcement but did not disclose it, Asantewaa clarified that she had been unable to log in to her Guinness World Records account. She emphasized that she would not withhold such important information from her fans and supporters.

The Guinness World Records (GWR) recently disqualified Asantewaa’s record attempt. In response to a query about her attempt, the GWR tweeted that her attempt was not successful but expressed hope that she would make another attempt in the future. The GWR also mentioned that the evidence check had already begun before Asantewaa requested priority service, and her payment for expedited review had been refunded.

Asantewaa had previously disclosed that she paid $750 to expedite the review process with the Guinness World Records, which usually takes up to twelve weeks. She explained that after two weeks of attempting the record, she decided to expedite the review process, which required the payment of a certain amount. Asantewaa clarified that the normal fee for expedited review is $650, but additional transaction fees brought the total to around $750.

The singer’s apology comes after a period of speculation and criticism regarding the handling of her record attempt results. Asantewaa has expressed regret for any confusion caused and reiterated her commitment to transparency in her endeavors.
