The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has announced that a new head coach for the Black Stars is expected to be unveiled on Monday, April 13, 2026.

He indicated that discussions with the remaining candidates are nearly complete, and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is close to finalising its decision.

The move follows the departure of former head coach Otto Addo, prompting the GFA to intensify efforts to appoint a replacement.

The GFA Executive Committee has been reviewing shortlisted candidates, with reports suggesting that three individuals are under consideration for the role.

The appointment is seen as critical to stabilising the team after inconsistent performances and preparing the Black Stars for upcoming competitions, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Once a final decision is made, the GFA is expected to work with the government to complete the appointment process.
