
The Ghana Police Service has apprehended a robbery suspect, Enoch Asimiga, following a bold daylight attack on a resident near Wassa Nkran on June 13, 2025.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect wielded a locally manufactured pistol and robbed the victim at gunpoint, making away with an undisclosed amount of money. The incident occurred in a secluded area, after which the suspect reportedly fled into a nearby cocoa farm.
The victim’s cry for help triggered an immediate response from community members, leading to the suspect’s capture shortly after the incident.
A subsequent search conducted by the police uncovered one (1) BB live cartridge, a locally manufactured pistol, and a Samsung mobile phone believed to be part of the stolen items.
Enoch Asimiga is currently in police custody and is assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have confirmed that he will be arraigned before court in the coming days.
