In a statement issued on February 27, 2025, NUGS extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and the entire KNUST community, emphasizing that no student should have to endure such a fate.

“We stand in solidarity with all those affected by this tragedy and demand full transparency in the ongoing investigation,” the statement read.

NUGS commended the swift action taken by KNUST authorities and supported the call by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) for access to CCTV footage and a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding Miss Yabani’s death.
