The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee has disclosed that it has received a total of 2,417 complaints from individuals and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as part of its efforts to combat corruption and recover misappropriated public resources.
Speaking during the presentation of the committee’s final report to President John Dramani Mahama on Monday, February 10, ORAL Chairman Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa provided a breakdown of the complaints:
1,493 calls were made through the committee’s toll-free line
924 emails were sent by concerned citizens and organizations
He assured that all calls and emails had been recorded and preserved for verification and validation.
Ablakwa emphasized the importance of the initiative, arguing that the large volume of complaints proves that President Mahama’s intervention was both relevant and timely.
“For those who doubted the necessity of the ORAL Committee, this is your evidence—2,417 complaints received. Without this initiative, where would all these people have gone?” he questioned.
The ORAL initiative is expected to play a crucial role in Ghana’s anti-corruption agenda, ensuring accountability and the retrieval of misappropriated public funds.
