NDC Rejects Re-Collated Election Results, Accuses EC of Manipulation

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rejected the re-collated parliamentary election results announced by the Electoral Commission (EC) on Saturday, December 21, 2024, citing allegations of manipulation and betrayal of democratic principles.

In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC accused the EC, led by Jean Mensa, of compromising the integrity of the electoral process. The party described the re-collation exercise as being conducted under “questionable and illegal circumstances,” undermining Ghana’s democracy and the sovereign will of the people.

The NDC alleged an “unholy alliance” between the EC, police, and military, claiming this collaboration facilitated the manipulation of results to favor the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). They also criticized the EC for disregarding a Stay of Execution order issued by the court, labeling it a blatant violation of the rule of law.

The NDC expressed concerns over what they termed as actions that deepen public mistrust in the EC. They emphasized that the commission’s conduct undermines its credibility and damages Ghana’s democratic fabric.

As political tensions rise, the NDC has reiterated its commitment to challenging the results and advocating for electoral justice.
