The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has revealed that 18,774,159 registered voters are expected to participate in the December 7 general elections.
With only 25 days remaining, the EC’s data highlights that this total includes individuals on the biometric voter roll, special voters, and a small group without biometric data. This information was outlined in the EC’s summary of the certified 2024 voters register, signed by Deputy Chairman of Operations, Samuel Tettey.
The EC’s report shows that 18,640,811 voters possess biometric data, while the special voters category comprises 131,478 individuals. Additionally, 1,870 registered voters lack biometric data.
This figure represents an increase of 1,746,518 voters compared to the 2020 general elections, which recorded 17,027,641 registered voters.
